UNMASKING BURTON by Josh Moore. 17th Oct, 2:30pm & 7:30pm

£10.00

Richard Burton returns to the place where it all began.

Set inside The Miners Arms in Pontrhydyfen on what would have been Burton’s 100th birthday, Unmasking Burton brings the legendary Welsh actor back to his childhood home - young again, 24 years old, but carrying a lifetime of memories, battles and regrets.

Through Burton’s own words, memories and the characters that shaped him, we go behind the famous voice and the Hollywood legend to explore the man himself - his relationship with his father, his struggles with addiction and his complicated relationship with fame.

Part theatre, part pub gathering, Unmasking Burton invites the audience to pull up a chair, have a drink and spend an evening with one of Wales’ greatest actors.

But beneath the stories, laughter and memories is a much more vulnerable question:

Who was Richard Burton when nobody was watching?

Unmasking Burton is an immersive one-man play about addiction, identity, masculinity, family and the search to understand the man behind the voice.

Saturday 17th October 2:30pm 7:30pm

At Theatr Bont, Bridgend. Upstairs at The West House Hotel, CF31 4RJ.
